D4S HID Bulbs
HID-D4S Xenon bulbs can ONLY be used
on vehicles that specifically call for
HID-D4S bulbs. At the present time, D4S
bulbs are only used in newer Toyota and
Lexus headlights.
As of yet, D4R and D4S bulbs do not
outperform the D2's enough to warrant a D2
to D4 conversion kit.
Not using D4S?
Most vehicles with HID Headlights use
HID-D2R or HID-D2S bulbs. If your vehicle
calls for D2R/S bulbs, you CANNOT use
D4S.
Advantages of D4S Bulbs
D4S bulbs are Mercury free. Thusly, they
are better for the environment whenits time
for disposal, D4S bulbs are also slightly
brighter than the industry standard HID-D2S
and HID-D2R bulbs.
The same color offerings are available as
our D2 based bulbs.: "Xenon-Blue"
(8000K), "Purplish-White" (6000K) or
"Bright-White" (5000K).. Any of these three
bulb choices can be used to upgrade or
replace your factory HID Headlights that use
standard HID-D4S bulbs.
HID-D4S Useage
D4S bulbs have started to appear on some
Lexus Models in 2006. The Toyota Prius
aslo uses D4R bulbs. Lexus is continuing to
use D4S bulbs in more of its vehicles, and
Toyota is expected to do the same.
